Kris Kristofferson was a country music icon - an exceptionally talented songwriter whose songs were recorded by the likes of Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin, Ray Price, Roger Miller, and many more. Kristofferson died on September 28, 2024, at age 88, leaving a legacy of memorable songs.

Guitar players love to play, look at, talk and dream about guitars. To the uninitiated, a guitar is just a guitar. For a musician though, guitars have different sounds, purposes, and looks that make them desirable. I joined a Facebook group called 70’s Bash (Bozeman) in 2013 and learned that some of my old classmates and those close in age had died. I wrote They Left Us Too Soon, honoring school friends from Bozeman, Montana that I knew. My brother Scott and I did not get along well as kids. We butted heads often, especially when I was in high school, and he was in middle school. He is four years younger than I am, and when he was 14 or so, he was almost in a different universe than I was. I guess I was the intolerant older brother, and we just clashed.
